Tedoninitis

A tendon is the structure that attaches a muscle to a bone. Tendonitis occurs when a tendon becomes inflamed or injured. This often comes about through an overuse injury; however, it can also occur after hit, fall or knock (ie. trauma).

While any tendon in the body can be injured and inflamed this way, tendonitis is common in the biceps and rotator cuff (supraspinatus) in the shoulder area.

Standard medical treatment involves either rest, anti-inflammatories or sometimes a cortisone injection.

At Recharge our aim is to find and treat what has altered the mechanics in your body to predispose and maintain the tendonitis.  To use the shoulder as an example, tightness through the ribcage muscles can pull the whole shoulder girdle down and impinge the rotator cuff tendon as it goes under the collar bone and into the top of the arm.

By treating the tightness in the ribcage muscles as well as the local tendonitis, we can get you feeling better faster. This treatment can be easily done in conjunction with medical treatment when necessary.
