Some knee injuries are the result of direct trauma, while others start from a reasonably minor incident or for no discernable reason at all. Many knee injuries occur because the knee has been ‘loaded up’ by muscle tension which stems from either the ankle, hip or low back region. This tension may have gone undetected for a long period of time, until the knee eventually strains from the pressure.
Exercises can help this, but most importantly hen this happens we need to direct attention towards treating the low back and ankle. Treating these associated areas takes the pressure back off the knee, enabling it to heal and any exercises to work.
